ICC World Cup 2019 most runs, wickets after Afghanistan vs New Zealand: Shakib and Ferguson move to the top

Match 12 of World Cup 2019 saw England posting a mammoth 386/6 against Bangladesh and winning by 106 runs. In the next match, New Zealand had a comfortable win against Afghanistan by seven wickets with 107 balls remaining. These two matches changed the points tables almost entirely with some new names dominating them.

Jason Roy mastered 153 off 123 and Jos Buttler smashed 64 off 44 balls. Shakib Al Hasan scored 121 off 119 balls during the chase. This well-crafted innings put Shakib at the top of the most runs table with Roy and Buttler following him at the 2^nd and 3^rd place respectively. Joe Root, who was earlier leading the table for a consecutive period, currently is at the 4^th place after scoring 21 off 29 in the match. Mushfiqur Rahim’s 44 off 50 placed him at the 5^th place.

Ross Taylor (48 off 52) and Kane Williamson (79 off 99) were instrumental as usual while chasing the target of 173 against Afghanistan. Taylor is currently at the 6^th place followed by Kane at 8^th.
