Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20: Preview – October 3

Three matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy will be played on October 3. All three are Elite Group C matches to be staged at Jaipur. Karnataka, Saurashtra, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, and Assam recorded important wins on October 2 with a couple of matches getting abandoned without even the toss.

Bengal vs Rajasthan

Bengal will be facing Rajasthan in the first encounter of the day. Having won two matches no wonder Bengal are favourites in this fixture against Rajasthan, who are still looking for a win. The only positive perspective for Rajasthan could be Bengal’s inconsistency and last match defeat against Tamil Nadu. On the other hand, it is a great opportunity for Bengal to claim an easy win and surpass Madhya Pradesh and Tripura in the table.

Bihar vs Gujarat

Another potentially one-sided game is scheduled for October 3. Bihar will be facing undefeated Gujarat. They won all four matches with absolute domination so far and are expected to continue on the winning stoke. For Bihar, this is the high time to make a strong comeback if they want to stay in the tournament. The bottom ranked team Bihar will have a tough time against the second ranked team, Gujarat.

Jammu & Kashmir vs Railways

The third and final game of the day will be close. Both Railways and Jammu & Kashmir won one match each so far out of their three matches. Both lost their last respective fixtures so the competition is neck to neck. Railways are currently ahead of Jammu & Kashmir because of a better net run rate (NRR).  At this stage, both teams will look for a win as one result here and there can decide their movement to the next round.
