The final second-round game of Global T20 Canada 2019 will be played between Montreal Tigers and Toronto Nationals. The Tigers ended round one with five points at third place, whereas the Nationals ended at fourth. A win would guarantee their third place finish where Montreal or Winnipeg will be the ultimate opponents. Meanwhile, two rain-washed matches earlier ensured the first Qualifier between Brampton Wolves and Vancouver Knights.

This two met each other in their previous encounter where the Nationals had a convincing victory over the Tigers. A low scoring match saw Toronto line-up initially missing the track but Chirag Suri (52) and later Chris Green (30*) chasing down the target.

After bouncing back from a ten-wicket defeat to Brampton and then a rain-curtailed draw against Vancouver, Montreal seemed back on track when they defeated Edmonton. But the last game once again went against them. Now they would look for revenge to cement their place in play-offs. Alasdair Evans replaced Mohammad Naveed last time as Thisara Perera replaced Anton Devcich.

Two wins from five matches were enough for Toronto Nationals to lift them into fourth place. Their batting has been good enough as they featured in three of the high scoring matches of the tournament. The replacements worked so far; Chirag Suri replaced Brendon McCullum last time who might return as Yuvraj Singh is doubtful.  Chris Green for Mark Montfort was effective as an all-rounder with two scalps and unbeaten 30 runs.

Head to head

The last edition saw a close fight between these two with the National clinching victory by just one wicket with zero balls to spare in Round 1.

Key Players

Kyle Coetzer (Montreal Tigers): Coetzer is a proven a key contributor for the Tigers in this season. Even in the last fixture of Round 1, he was the highest scorer of his team against the Nationals.
