IPL 2019 12 Andre Russell Orange Purple Cap

The big mover on Friday, April 5, was Andre Russell. His explosive 13-ball 48* didn’t just keep Royal Challengers Bangalore winless, it also pushed him to the top three of the run charts. He has 207 runs from 4 matches, and is within sight of Jonny Bairstow (246) and David Warner (264) at the top.

Nitish Rana was another Kolkata representative in the top five, his 23-ball 37 taking him to 169 runs in 4 matches, 6 runs above Bangalore’s Parthiv Patel, who is No. 5. Further down, Half-centuries from the Bangalore duo of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers also put them in the top ten.

Kohli, who scored a 49-ball 84, is now No. 6 on the run charts with 162 runs in five matches, and is two places above de Villiers, who has 156 in as many matches. Rishabh Pant separates them at No. 7.
