David Warner batted through 20 overs against Kings XI Punjab, scoring 70 not out. Jonny Bairstow, his opening partner for Sunrisers Hyderabad, fell for 1. As a result, Warner, owner of the Orange Cap, has now extended his lead over Bairstow to 86 runs.
The surprise ascent of the night, however, was KL Rahul‘s, who stormed into the top ten and rose to the third spot. Like Warner, Rahul batted through the innings as well, for an unbeaten 71, with Punjab winning with a ball to spare. Thanks to his 55, Rahul’s teammate Mayank Agarwal reached seventh spot.
