IPL 2019 started in anticlimactic fashion: Royal Challengers Bangalore were bowled out for 70 in the inaugural match, and Chennai Super Kings chased down the target for the loss of 3 wickets, with 14 balls to spare.
The Chennai spinners – Imran Tahir, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravindra Jadeja – were fantastic on a dry pitch, but Parthiv Patel stood firm. Opening batting, Parthiv defied the spinners before being last to be dismissed – off Dwayne Bravo’s only ball of the match.
Despite having scored only 29, Parthiv is currently the leading run-scorer of IPL 2019. Here is the list.
