Faf du Plessis (96* in 103) and Hashim Amla (80* in 105) both scored big in South Africa’s 9-wicket win against Sri Lanka at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street, but none of them managed to break through to the list of top ten run-getters of the 2019 World Cup. Du Plessis finished on 287, just 4 runs behind 10th-ranked Ben Stokes. Kusal Perera (191), Sri Lanka’s highest scorer in the tournament, is some distance behind.
