Aaron Finch‘s 132-ball 153 against Sri Lanka at The Oval helped him soar past Joe Root in the list of top run-getters in the 2019 World Cup. Despite his struggle, Finch’s opening partner David Warner (26 in 48), too, managed to crawl past Root. However, Finch is 52 ahead of Warner at this point.
Steven Smith’s 59-ball 73 took him to fifth spot. Later in the day, Dimuth Karunaratne (97 in 108) and Kusal Perera (52 in 36) secured ninth and tenth spots respectively.
Then Quinton de Kock, with a 72-ball 68 against Afghanistan at Cardiff, climbed to eighth spot, knocking Perera off the list.
