ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, most runs and wickets after February 24: Chamari Athapaththu and Poonam Yadav claim the top

In the first match on February 24, Australia Women chased down a target of 123 in 19.3 balls with five wickets remaining. Batting first Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu scored a 38-ball 50 and helped her team post a decent total. During the chase, the hosts had a tough time initially but Rachael Haynes (60) and Meg Lanning (41*) stabilized the innings and won the match.

The next fixture of the day saw Shafali Verma once again showing her class with a 17-ball 39 as Jemimah Rodrigues (34) did her bit too. Bangladesh failed to reach the target of 143 and lost the match by 18 runs.

Athapaththu is currently leading the following table followed by Verma in third place. Meg Lanning has entered the top ten with two more Indian young players, Sharma and Rodrigues enjoying fifth and sixth places respectively. Alysa Healey after scoring a duck moved down to seventh rank.
