ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, most runs and wickets after February 23: van Niekerk, Kapp enter both tables

South Africa Women

South Africa Women won their first fixture of the Women’s T20 World Cup by beating England Women at Perth. Nat Sciver scored 50 and saved the English innings at first. They set a target of 124 which was achieved by the Proteas with two balls remaining.

Dane van Niekerk and Marizanne Kapp scored 46 and 38 respectively to take South Africa to a secure position. Sciver is in third place now whereas van Niekerk and Kapp are enjoying fifth and seventh positions in the batting table.

Ayabonga Khaka took three wickets as Kapp and van Niekerk took two each. Sophie Ecclestone, on the other hand, picked up two wickets of South Africa. Khaka is now in fifth place as her colleagues are in seventh and eighth place. Ecclestone has reached the sixth position.
