England resumed the final day on 199/6, requiring another 72 to make Australia bat again. Despite falling short of her maiden hundred, Nat Sciver (88) saved them from that embarrassment. Heather Knight declared on 275/9 (Sophie Molineux 4/95 on debut), just before lunch, 145 behind.

Laura Marsh reduced Australia to 15/2 before Ellyse Perry took charge. She kept batting despite losing her partners, and remained unbeaten on 76 (to go with 116 and 1/44) when the captains shook hands at 230/7.

India Under-19s win first match

India Under-19s beat England Under-19s in the first match of the Under-19s Triangular Tournament in England. Batting first, England were bowled out for 204 by Kartik Tyagi (3/35) and Ravi Bishnoi (3/40), Lewis Goldsworthy top-scoring with 58.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (78) and Divyaansh Saxena (43) then added 92 for the second wicket to as good as settle the match. Priyam Garg raced to a 33-ball 38, and India won by 5 wickets in the 40th over.

For Hampshire, Kyle Abbott took 4-0-22-3 and Liam Dawson 4-0-25-2, but Blake triumphed in the end.

Leicestershire never recovered after losing both openers for golden ducks at Edgbaston to Fidel Edwards (4-0-22-4). They limped to 115/9. Riding on Ashton Agar’s unbeaten 28-ball 41, Birmingham won by 7 wickets in the 15th over.

Steven Croft batted through 20 overs with a 43-ball 65 not out while Glenn Maxwell smashed a 33-ball 58, helping Lancashire post 189/3 at Old Trafford. Durham then folded for 117 against Matt Parkinson (3.4-0-30-3), Richard Gleeson (3-0-15-2), and Danny Lamb (4-0-25-2) despite Scott Steel’s 58.
