Brampton Wolves vs Montreal Tigers, Global Canada T20 League, Match 4: Preview, predictions, likely XIs

IPL 2019 12 Kolkata Knight Riders Mumbai Indians KKR MI

Brampton Wolves – hosts of the entire Canada T20 League 2019 – will take on Montreal Tigers in Match 4 of the tournament. Montreal had stormed past Winnipeg Hawks in their opening match to secure top spot in the points table. Brampton, on the other hand, are yet to play a match.

The Montreal charge was set up by Sunil Narine and Anton Devcich, who had added 65 for the second wicket off just 33 balls. They, along with Kyle Coetzer and George Bailey, will form the fulcrum of their batting. Narine, Sean Abbott, and Mohammad Naveed will have to lead with ball as well.

Despite Shakib Al Hasan’s unavailability, Brampton, on the other hand, have a galaxy of short-format stars in Shahid Afridi, Lendl Simmons, Darren Sammy, Colin Munro, Wahab Riaz, and Andre Fletcher. They will also have home advantage. This is going to be a contest to savour.

Head to head

Brampton Wolves did not feature in 2018, the inaugural season of Global T20 Canada. This will be the first match between the sides.

Key players

Shahid Afridi (Brampton Wolves): Small ground, shortest format, who can be a greater entertainer than Boom Boom? Watch out for those towering sixes that may change the course of a match in the span of two overs. There is also his bowling, and electric fielding…

Sunil Narine (Montreal Tigers): With a probing length and canny variations, Narine has the go-to person for most T20 captains in this decade. Add to that his ability to tonk everything at the top, and you will seldom come across a better all-rounder.
