Melbourne Stars chased down 143 comfortably to extend their lead at the top of the BBL 2018-19 points table. They also avenged their defeat in last season’s final. The chase was shepherded by Marcus Stoinis (68* in 55 balls), who went past Callum Ferguson to reach top spot on the batting chart.

The Renegades lost 5 for 8 towards the end of the innings, but that was only after Shaun Marsh (43 in 33), Aaron Finch (25 in 24), and Beau Webster (29 in 24) rose up the ranks to secure third, seventh, and ninth positions respectively.
