Marcus Stoinis’ 37-ball 62 could not prevent Sydney Sixers bringing Melbourne Stars’ unbeaten run to a halt. Stoinis is now 192 ahead of Shaun Marsh of Melbourne Renegades, second on the runs chart. Stoinis Stars teammate Glenn Maxwell (12 in 13 balls) finished the day at sixth place. There is no Sixers batsman in the top ten.

Josh Inglis (58 in 41) of Perth Scorchers had risen to third place earlier in the day, while his captain Mitchell Marsh, now fourth, got two runs off the only ball he faced. This happened after Alex Hales of the Thunder bludgeoned his way to a 47-ball 85 to finish at eighth place.
