BBL 2019-20, most runs, wickets after December 27: Strikers batsmen occupy top three spots

Adelaide Strikers beat Melbourne Stars to displace the latter at the second place on the BBL 2019-20 points table. Jake Weatherald (21 in 7 balls) led the charge before Alex Carey (45 in 45) and Jonathan Wells (68* in 46) took them to 174/4. The trio now occupy the top three spots in the runs chart, in that order.

The Stars lost by 5 runs. For them, Marcus Stoinis got 33 in 31 balls at the top to secure fifth place, while Glenn Maxwell’s 25-ball 43 took him to seventh.

The Stars left out Haris Rauf today to draft in Dale Steyn, which meant that the former stayed at joint-second. His teammate Adam Zampa (4-0-26-1) meanwhile climbed to joint-fifth. The Strikers do not have a representative in the top ten.
