Sri Lanka registered their first win in the 2019 World Cup by defeating Afghanistan by 34 runs in a low-scoring, somewhat topsy-turvy match at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. For Sri Lanka, opener Kusal Perera was eighth out for a 81-ball 78 to go past the 100-run mark in the tournament. He is currently placed below only Joe Root and Jos Buttler.
For Afghanistan, Najibullah Zadran added a 51-ball 43 to his 51 in the Australia match. He is currently placed sixth.
