Vitality Blast 2019, Surrey vs Kent Spitfires: Preview, predictions

In a South Division clash, Surrey will host Kent Spitfires at The Oval on July 30 – the only match of Vitality Blast 2019 to be played on that day. With three wins in three matches, Kent is perched at the top of the South Division points table, while Surrey is at fifth place.

Two of Kent’s wins – against Somerset by 41 runs and against Essex by 22 runs – have been by convincing margins. They were pushed a bit by Hampshire before they reached home with a ball to spare.

Surrey, on the other hand, got off to an ordinary start, losing to Essex by 52 runs and to Middlesex by 37 runs. Then they bounced back, scoring 141 and bowling out Glamorgan for 44 to secure their first win. Then they tied with Sussex to obtain a third point.

Last season: Kent 173/6 (20) beat Surrey 167 (18.5) at The Oval, Surrey 250/6 (20) vs Kent (no result).
