Four North Division teams had already qualified for the quarterfinals even before the last day’s play of the league stage, as had Sussex Sharks from the South Division. They will now be joined by Gloucestershire, Middlesex, and Essex Eagles for the quarterfinals.
North Division toppers Lancashire Lightning should ideally have hosted the Eagles for the first match, on September 4. However, with Old Trafford hosting the fourth Ashes Test, the venue had to be shifted to Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street.
On the subsequent three nights, Nottinghamshire Outlaws will host Middlesex the following night at Trent Bridge, Nottingham; the Sharks will host Worcestershire Rapids at Worcestershire Rapids at County Ground, Hove; and Gloucestershire will host Derbyshire Falcons at County Ground, Bristol.
