PUBG Continental Series 5 Americas Grand Final – Everything you need to know

The PUBG Continental Series 5 Americas Grand Final is set to get underway on Thursday, 16th September. The PCS5 is one of the most anticipated events of the year, with 16 teams from the Americas battling it out for a prize pool of $250,000 along with qualification points for PUBG Esports’ biggest event of the year – the Global Championships.

Format

Sixteen teams have qualified for the final battle of the PUBG Continental Series 5 Americas, with six teams coming from the North Americas and Latin Americas Group Stage each and four teams from the Last Chance Qualifier.

These 16 teams will play 36 matches on six match-days across three weekly series. Prize money will be awarded according to the placements of each week of game-play, with the weekly pay-outs increasing from week to week to ensure that more teams are involved in the fight for the championship as the tournament progresses.

Matches will be played under the ‘Most Chickens’ format, and qualification points will be handed out based on the final standings at the end of each event, which will ultimately decide the teams that will represent the Americas region in the PUBG Global Championship event which takes place later this year. The PCS5 Champion will receive a direct invite to the Global Championships.

Prize Money

The Base Prize for the event will be $230,000 with $20,000 in special prizes. The prize money will be $60,000 for Week 1 matches, $70,000 for Week 2 and $100,000 for week 3. The winners will be the team who accumulates the most prize money across the three weeks, with pay-outs gradually increasing from week to week to keep more teams in the mix.
