Jonny Bairstow‘s 114 against Royal Challengers Bangalore took him only 56 balls, but never during the innings did he threaten to clinch the Orange Cap for the 2019 IPL. David Warner, his Sunrisers Hyderabad opening partner, got an unbeaten 100 – in 55 balls – and retained the Cap.
Warner is currently on 254 runs, 56 clear of second-placed Bairstow, who is again 39 ahead of third-ranked Andre Russell.
Among others in action from Sunday, Sanju Samson of Rajasthan Royals failed to improve significantly on his tally; he is currently fourth. No Chennai or Bangalore batsman features in the top ten, of which here is a list.
