The first ODI of the 3-match series between India and West Indies will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai, the home of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and Chennai Super Kings.
Established in 1916, the ground has, over years, earned a reputation of being home to the most knowledgeable cricket crowd in India. The venue has witnessed several landmark moments history, including
– A Test in India’s first ever home series (in 1933-34)
– The first ever Ranji Trophy match (1934-35)
– India’s first Test win (1951-52)
– The second – and till date, last – tied Test (1986)
– Narendra Hirwani’s 16/136 on Test debut
– Saeed Anwar’s then world record ODI score of 194
– Two of the three Test triple-hundreds scored by Indians

Chepauk has also hosted 7 World Cup matches across three editions (the most recent being between India and West Indies in 2011) as well as two IPL finals. In all, 32 Tests, 21 ODIs, and 2 T20Is have been played here.
