With Chris Gayle away on international duty, others had a go at the top spot on the Global T20 Canada 2019 in the Eliminator. With a 40-ball 73, Rodrigo Thomas first replaced Gayle at the top. Later in the night, Heinrich Klaasen (106* in 49) went past both, while JP Duminy (85* in 41) and Chris Lynn (21 in 13) finished at fourth and fifth place respectively.

Chadwick Walton (9 in 7), Rassie van der Dussen (25 in 19), Lendl Simmons (3 in 6), Colin Munro (62 in 25), and Tobias Visee (40 in 22) – all of whom featured in Qualifier 1 – occupy the remaining five spots.
