BBL 2019-20, most runs, wickets after January 25: Curran chases Sams, Stoinis extends lead marginally

Beau Webster of Melbourne Renegades managed only a 12-ball 7 in the first match of the day, but that was enough to take him past Liam Livingstone of Perth Scorchers and secure fourth place. Webster’s teammate Shaun Marsh held on to the second place despite not featuring in the match. Josh Philippe of Sydney Stars then shepherded the chase with a 42-ball 61 – an innings that put him at seventh place.

Later in the day, Chris Lynn (34 in 31) of Brisbane Heat finished the day at joint tenth, as did Glenn Maxwell (1 in 2) of Melbourne Stars. Maxwell’s teammate Marcus Stoinis (17 in 11), on the other hand, slightly increased his lead at the top.

Tom Curran (4-0-22-3) of the Sixers became the second bowler to cross the 20-wicket mark in this edition of the BBL; with 22 wickets, Curran is now 2 behind Daniel Sams of Sydney Thunder. Curran’s teammate Ben Dwarshuis (4-0-41-1) is now joint seventh, while there is no Renegades bowler in the top ten.

Later in the day, Sandeep Lamichhane (4-0-16-1) of the Stars and Ben Laughlin (3-0-12-1) of the Heat also caught up with Dwarshuis to finish on joint seventh.
